Brandy - 'from the still to the bottle'

Born in Scotland, with a family heritage of more than 100 years in the whisky trade, Neil Mathieson moved to London and trained as a chef after dabbling in accountancy and law. Having married another chef and opened a restaurant, Neil moved into the spirits trade when he started his own company, called 'Eaux de Vie', in 1984. In the intervening years Eaux de Vie has become the number one independent spirits importer in the United Kingdom, working with more than fifty distilleries worldwide. The company works in all sectors of the industry offering branded and bespoke products to supermarkets, department stores, wine merchants and restaurants & bars. After more than twenty years, many of Neil's original blends are still being sold throughout the U.K. Neil has also enjoyed success as a lecturer and author with several books on wines and spirits. He also judges in international competitions; and currently is chairman of Brandy Judges at the 'International Spirits Challenge'.
